Abstract:
This presentation introduces the COMSPOC (Commercial Space Operations Center) as a commercial enterprise designed to enhance Space Situational Awareness (SSA) and mitigate Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) through multi-sensor data fusion and precision calibration. COMSPOC integrates optical, radar, and passive RF observations from a global sensor network to produce highly accurate orbit determinations for Resident Space Objects (RSOs). Its processing relies on the SSA Software Suite, validated through the U.S. Air Force Joint Mission System, to deliver data products such as High-Definition Ephemeris (HiDEph) and Safety-of-Flight (SoF) services. The system provides continuous calibration against truth sources like GNSS, SLR, and WAAS, achieving accuracies of tens of meters in GEO and LEO regimes. COMSPOC’s fusion capabilities significantly reduce conjunction false alarms, improve geolocation accuracy, and enable rapid mitigation of RFI events—achieving up to an 80% reduction in geolocation cycle time. Overall, the presentation demonstrates COMSPOC’s role in improving SSA reliability, reducing operational costs, and strengthening global space safety through data transparency and best practices.
